Hoya davidcummingii

24/01/2024 -- This is Hoya davidcummingii. I purchased this plant from Hoya Store Australia in October 2022, and it has been a pleasure to have in my collection. I know many people say they struggle to keep this plant alive, but I've had no problems. Apart from a brief broad mite infestation in the winter of 2023, this pant has grown well and is very easy to bloom. The blooms are beautiful, and I find the butterscotch fragrance heartwarming. Interestingly, the blooms change colour with a change in fertiliser or soil. I recently took cuttings from this plant and have placed them in leca, as Doug from Vermont Hoyas says it does well for him in semi-hydro. We'll see if I can get davidcummingii to thrive even more in this new growing media. Stay tuned for a semi-hydro update.
